There are several prescription treatments for acne that you can easily get over the counter. However, these treatments would, more often that not, contain chemicals that can be very harmful on your skin. Thus, it would be so much better to go for home treatment for acne instead. Fortunately, there are a number of methods that are popularly used these days. Below are some of the things that you yourself can try, if you are affected with the condition of acne as well.

The first is to apply essential oils. The popular choices for essential oils include tea tree oil, clove oil, lavender oil, bergamot oil, rosewood oil, and so many more. You have to remember that essential oils are quite strong, so you would have to dilute them accordingly. If you have extremely sensitive skin, you can choose to use grapeseed oil in diluting whatever essential oil you are using. Also, you should be very careful when diluting tea tree oil. The mixture should contain 95% water and 5% tea tree oil. Yes, this type of essential oil is that strong. You should apply the essential oil onto your face before you go to bed in the evening. Rinsing should be done in the morning, with pure hypoallergenic soap, like Ivory.

The second tip is to get as much sunlight as possible. If you are not taking medication that has side effects related to exposure to sunlight, then by all means, go out and enjoy the sun. The sun actually has properties that can effectively kill bacteria that cause acne. The sun can also dry up sebum oil, which is responsible for the production of acne. What’s more, this is one home treatment that would not cost you anything at all!

Thirdly, you should remember the fact that acne actually starts inside of your body. Acne may manifest itself on your skin, but the source of dirt is inside your own body. Thus, you should drink a lot of water, to help your system detoxify accordingly. Fruits and vegetables are also in order here. Since we are on the subject of diet, it is also imperative that you avoid processed foods. Just stick to natural food items, such as fruits and vegetables. Make sure to take them in fresh as well.
